The original shell was found in Montauk, NY.
SHELL NOTES
Scientific Name: Mytilus edulis
Found along the coastline attached to rocks, blue mussels are bivalve mollusks with a blue-black exterior and iridescent interior. They live in dense communities, attaching themselves to surfaces with strong, thread-like structures called byssal threads. Mussels play a key role in marine ecosystems as natural water filters, ecosystem engineers and a food source for wildlife.

Our jewelry is crafted with a 100% brass base and finished with gold plating. Designed to be treasured and worn often, your necklace should be kept away from water, perfumes, lotions, and other chemicals to help prolong the life of its gold-plated finish.
