Rosa Solis began long before it became a jewelry brand. A name that once belonged to my father’s business, — a name that meant strength, warmth, and resilience. Translated to “Rose of the Sun,” carrying it forward feels both like honoring my roots and blooming into something entirely my own.

I was raised along the coast of Long Island, New York, where the ocean shapes everything — the coastline, the air, and the people who live beside it.  Life there teaches you to notice the small details: the way golden light reflects off the water, the rhythm of the tide, the pattern of the wind blown sand, and the intricacies of shells left behind.

By day, I’m a science educator. I spend my time helping students understand the natural world — how it works, how it forms, how it evolves. The ocean has always been one of my greatest teachers. Shells are not just beautiful objects; they are formed slowly, layer by layer, by living organisms drawing minerals from seawater. A testament to endurance and design. What appears delicate is, in truth, remarkably strong. They carry stories of survival, growth, and resilience.

Each piece begins with something real — a form shaped by and found in nature— and is reimagined in gold as a symbol of strength and love.

with love + light,
Rose
